The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) runs the High School (Class 10) and Intermediate (Class 12) board exams for more students than any other board in India. What the paper looks like

UP Board High School papers typically carry 70 marks of theory and 30 marks of internal assessment or project work per subject. The theory paper has two parts: Part A with 20 objective questions of one mark each, answered on an OMR sheet, and Part B with short and long descriptive answers. Papers run for 3 hours 15 minutes, including 15 minutes of reading time.

Intermediate papers keep the same two-part layout. Physics, Chemistry and Biology are usually 70 marks of theory plus 30 marks of practical; Hindi, English and Mathematics are 100-mark theory papers. Science and Mathematics papers are printed bilingually, so Hindi-medium students read the Hindi version and write in Hindi.
