Privacy Policy

01Who We Are

Myrix Learn is an exam-preparation service operated by Myrix Labs ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use Myrix Learn, why we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Last updated: 3 October 2026.

02Information We Collect

We only collect what we need to run your exam preparation:

Account details: your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash).
Study profile: the exam you are preparing for, your class or course, subjects, exam date, preferred language, daily study time and birth year.
For students under 18: a parent's or guardian's email address and their consent decision.
What you upload: the books, notes and other PDF files you add to your account.
Your practice: test answers, scores, time taken, mistakes, revision schedule, progress and contest results.
Voice sessions: the audio and transcript of viva and exam-interview practice, and the feedback generated from it.
Payments: your plan and payment status. Card, UPI and bank details are handled by our payment provider and never stored by us.
Technical data: your IP address and device information, used for security, fraud and abuse prevention.

03How We Use Your Information

We use your data only for these purposes:

To create tests, quizzes and revision sets from your syllabus and the material you upload.
To mark your answers, explain solutions, answer your doubts and give feedback on voice sessions.
To show your progress, weak chapters, study plan and contest rank.
To run your account and plan, process payments and send you service emails (such as sign-in codes and receipts).
To keep the service secure and prevent cheating, fraud and abuse.
For students aged 18 and over only: to understand how the product is used so we can improve it.

04Children and Parental Consent

If you are under 18, we ask for a parent's or guardian's email address when you set up your study profile and send them a request to approve your use of Myrix Learn. Study features stay locked until they approve. For students under 18 we do not use analytics or behavioural tracking, we never show targeted advertising, and your name is hidden on leaderboards by default. A parent or guardian can ask us to access, correct or delete their child's data at any time using the contact details below.

05What Other Students Can See

Your notes, uploads, answers and voice sessions are private to your account. Questions we create from your own notes are used only in your tests. On All-India mock leaderboards, adults appear as their first name and last initial, and students under 18 appear as "Anonymous student" unless they choose otherwise. You can change your leaderboard visibility at any time.

06Service Providers We Use

We share data only with providers that help us run Myrix Learn, only as much as each one needs, and under contracts that require them to protect it. They may not use your data for their own purposes:

DigitalOcean: hosting, database and file storage, in Bengaluru, India.
OpenAI: generating and checking questions, marking written answers, the doubt solver, reading scanned pages and running voice sessions. OpenAI does not use API data to train its models.
TypeSafe: checking that generated questions are accurate.
Razorpay: payments and subscriptions.
Brevo: sending service emails.
Mixpanel: product analytics, for students aged 18 and over only.

07Where Your Data Is Processed

Your account, study data and files are stored in India. Some AI processing by OpenAI may take place outside India, under the safeguards described above and as permitted by Indian law.

08Data Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, restricted access for our staff, private file storage and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep it to yourself.

09How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete individual uploads at any time. When you ask to delete your account, it is scheduled for deletion and permanently erased 14 days later, unless you cancel within that time. We may keep limited payment records where the law requires it.

10Your Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:

Get a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it.
Correct, complete or update your data.
Have your data erased (you can also delete your account yourself from your Profile page).
Withdraw consent at any time. This stops future processing, but some features may then stop working.
Nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you are unable to.
Raise a grievance with us, and if it is not resolved, complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

12Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our service or the law changes. We will post the updated policy here and tell you about material changes by email or in the app.
